Future of the SAT-Server unsure

Hey Guys,

a important but unfortunately unpleasant announcement : The future of the SAT-Server is ATM uncertain. The new Server I was preparing will be shout down and so no new server is available at the moment.

As most of you know, a new server was in the work (http://satclan.betaboard.net/t253-new-server-in-the-works#1663). This server was paid by me and a friend of mine and Anoulis confirmed to help out, too. Unfortunately my friend backed out and I would have to pay the server all by myself, which I can't do. When the old SAT-Server first started there where 3-4 people splitting the bill, but at the end of it only Anoulis and I paid for the server, which is very sad, since a lot of people promised their support but none came. I'm not blaming anyone, UrT is a game and the real life is of course more important and at the moment finances are tight for everybody.

So, to sum up. The new server won't come and I have no idea when and if a new server will be set up. I will search for a couple of hosting plans and see if I can find something that I find affordable and useful - but this has to be decided and discussed with Anoulis, too. Sorry that I couldn't bring you better news - if something new turns up, I will inform you guys ![strike]

i have understand the finances are tight for you and anoulis so why not help you for pay.
I like to play on your server and I am sad if it closes forever...
SAT and other player are nice (large community of friends) so i want continue to play with it on the server SAT. May be other player want pay, idk.

Thanks guys for trying to support us, it's really appreciated. The "problem" is, that we had people that promised to help us in the past and either nothing came or we got support for only a few months. It was appreciated, but I can't always invest my time and money in a server only to be forced to close it after a couple of months. So I have to think of a way to ensure that the server is alive for a longer time. If anybody has a good idea either post it here or send me a PM.

I am maybe the only one here who have a 'linux phone' so, i dont think i can help.
And as i sadly have no money for my own clan, i think it will be hard to give some for SAT serv.
But i hope you will find some solutions guys cause it will be sad to lost the 'second' best P&N serv !!! xD

Hi,

So my proposition is to create corporation with a few members to lead the serveur and the clan. (5 personnes, who pay every month and if they don't, they're "ban" of the corporation).

We need five personne 18 years old minnimum and mature.
I think we can conserve Anoulis, Nazgoul and Anaki on the head but they need help to lead the serv and the clan. (Inactivity) That's why they will recrute 2-3 personnes to help to pay and to lead.

The price of a good serv is 9.5 euros for 12 slots, so if 5 personnes pay 2 per month, it's Ok.
Or 16 euros with a second private or 21 with a ts3.

I think [SAT] member need new member to find again a quite activity of the clan.

For android and iphone, i found a new app, 3 days ago. This application pay u for test new app on your paypal. With this application i'm doing me 5-10 euros per month with only go 2 min every day on my android phone.

Sat clan, was one of the best clan of P&N mode. I said "was"...
This clan has only 3-4 active members. They're 2 possibilities.

1- Recrute and do a new start.
2- Or Create a new clan, a new serv... (like [SAT])

This depends of what will do the leader of sat.

We are all spread arround here and there...its not hard to get together again, the only problem is the server...only Nazgoul has the ability and knowledge to set one up and at the time being he has no time to do so...thats why we are stuch here..

IMPORTANT:

I will have machine in server room on company where i work. I don't know when exactly but think till the end of this month. When i install OS i need to configure system first then configure server. Cuz im not expert it will took some time. Im not also very nub so the server will be confed properly. Keep Steady.

The SAT-Clan was usually good at rising out of ashes. We had a lot of "quiet times" and a lot of comebacks. Most of the ppl in the clan, especially the long-term members usually return when the clan as a whole is more active. So I wouldn't worry too much abou the clan. Usually it comes back

Agree, one of the reasons is that I don't have too much time, another important reason is, that I don't want to set up a server every year or so. I'm tired of renting new server, configuring it and then having to close it down, because although there are like 50 people playing on it every day, none seems to care that there are some costs and some work behind the server.

So unless there are some ppl that are willing to support a server for two years or so, I don't think there will be a new official SAT-Server.

Oh so my tries won't be connected with SAT clan? and if i run new server i cannot use SAT tag cuz it will be not OFFICAL server?

EDIT: If i got posibilites i will run PnN server. And it doesnt matter if u "approve" to use SAT tag on it. And we have nth to talk about. I think all is readable and clear. And have fun with starting new server. Thoght its good idea to start SAT serv again. Seems like not for You.
