New server in the works !

Hello Guys,

been a long time since I showed myself - I've been quite busy with uni,work and life. I just wanted to let you know, that our current server will close down at the latest on New Years (31.12.2011) so if you don't see the server - it's probably offline for good. The reason the server is closing is, that the provider we rented the server from, is removing the product, so we can't do anything about it.

Fortunately a months or so ago I rented a new server, although not knowing, that the current server will be shut down, so we have a server to set up a new Sat-Server. Unfortunately I can't promise that the new server will be set-up before the old one closes or an exact date when the new server will be up. but I promise I will do my best to finish it as soon as possible. I only was notified last week, that our current server will close, so there was no time for preparations, since I expected to be able to rent both servers as to make the transition as painless and smooth as possible - unfortunately our current provider had other plans . The "problem" with the new server is, that it's not a single VPN but a whole dedicated Server (specs below) , the good thing is that we have much more control about the server and it's resources (in other word - it's faaaast) but it also comes with a lot of work on my part. To give you an idea how our new server is set up - I'll post a few specs :

Intel Core i7-2600 Quad-Core
8MB Cache
3,4 GHz
8 Cores (Hyper-Threading)

16 GB DDR3 RAM

6 Gb/s 7200 rpm SATA in RAID 1

100-MBit connection to a 240 GBit backbone

Nazgul, If It is hosted on Linux, I can help you out by giving you a clean directory with everything you need to set up a server, ofc you'd need to upload maps and cfgs yourself, or edit the ones I'll provide (default ones).

After that you need to redirect the IP n port, etc..

Unfortunately the new server might take some time to come online, I've a lot of work lately and there are also some problems on the server side that need to be fixed first (not related to UrT). But I guess the server will be up in early February !

IP is not relevant ATM, since the Urt-Server isn't running !
